Respectful Communication Policy

CRS Property NSW Pty Ltd (“CRS Property NSW”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to maintaining a professional, safe, respectful and inclusive environment for our employees, contractors, clients, tenants, landlords, vendors, purchasers, service providers and other stakeholders.

 

This Respectful Communication Policy outlines the standards of behaviour expected when communicating with CRS Property NSW and our representatives. It supports our obligations under applicable Australian workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination and employment legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW).

Scope

This Policy applies to all individuals who communicate or interact with CRS Property NSW, including but not limited to:

 

  • Clients
  • Tenants
  • Landlords
  • Vendors and purchasers
  • Contractors and suppliers
  • Visitors
  • Members of the public
  • Any other stakeholders

The Policy applies to all forms of communication, whether conducted in person or through electronic means.

CRS Property NSW is committed to:

 

  • Treating all individuals fairly, professionally and with respect;
  • Providing responsive and professional customer service;
  • Listening to concerns, complaints and feedback objectively and constructively;
  • Seeking practical and reasonable solutions where appropriate;
  • Maintaining a workplace that is safe, respectful and free from unlawful harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence; and
  • Supporting the wellbeing, safety and dignity of our employees and representatives.

We encourage open, honest and constructive communication. All parties interacting with CRS Property NSW are expected to communicate in a respectful, courteous and professional manner.

 

This Policy applies to communications conducted through:

  • Face-to-face meetings;
  • Telephone calls;
  • Email correspondence;
  • SMS and messaging applications;
  • Video conferencing platforms;
  • Social media platforms;
  • Written correspondence, and
  • Any other communication channel used to engage with CRS Property NSW.

CRS Property NSW has a zero-tolerance approach to conduct that is abusive, threatening, intimidating, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Verbal abuse or offensive language directed at staff;
  • Personal insults, derogatory comments or offensive remarks;
  • Threats of physical harm, legal action made in an intimidating manner, or other threatening conduct;
  • Harassment, bullying or victimisation;
  • Discrimination, vilification or offensive conduct based on race, colour, nationality, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, religion or any other protected attribute under applicable law;
  • Repeated aggressive, hostile or unreasonable communications;
  • Intimidation, coercion or attempts to pressure employees into acting outside company procedures or legal obligations;
  • Recording, publishing or distributing communications without lawful authority where such conduct may cause harm or distress;
  • Physical aggression, violence or damage to property; and
  • Any conduct that creates a risk to the health, safety or well-being of our employees or others.

Where behaviour is considered unacceptable, CRS Property NSW reserves the right to take reasonable and proportionate action to protect the safety and wellbeing of its employees and representatives.

 

Such action may include, but is not limited to:

 

  • Advising the individual that their behaviour is inconsistent with this Policy;
  • Requesting that the behaviour cease immediately;
  • Ending a telephone call, meeting or other interaction;
  • Requiring future communications to be made in writing;
  • Restricting communications to a nominated representative or communication channel;
  • Declining or limiting face-to-face meetings;
  • Refusing entry to company premises where lawful to do so;
  • Suspending or ceasing engagement where appropriate and legally permissible; and
  • Referring serious matters to law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities or other relevant bodies.

Any action taken will be reasonable, proportionate and determined having regard to the nature, frequency and severity of the conduct.

CRS Property NSW recognises that property-related matters can at times be complex, stressful and emotionally challenging.

 

We encourage individuals to raise concerns, complaints or disputes so that they may be considered and addressed appropriately. We are committed to handling complaints fairly, respectfully and in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

 

To ensure concerns can be effectively addressed, all communications must remain respectful and professional.

CRS Property NSW is committed to providing, so far as is reasonably practicable, a workplace that is safe and without risks to health and safety.

 

Behaviour that threatens the physical or psychological safety of our employees, contractors or representatives may result in immediate action being taken under this Policy and, where appropriate, under applicable legislation.

CRS Property NSW may review, amend or update this Policy from time to time to ensure compliance with legal requirements and to support a safe, respectful and professional working environment.
